Have a Seasonal Business and the Pipes Freeze?
This loss was in a seasonal restaurant that was closed for the winter. As many seasonal businesses do, they shut off their utilities including water, heat and electric. Once the temperature dropped they had a hot water heater pipe break in the ceiling of their dining room affecting the attic, dining room, service area, bathroom and crawlspace. As soon as SERVPRO of Cape May County received the call, a team immediately went on site and started mitigation services. The sooner a water loss is properly cleaned up and dried, the less likely to have secondary damage. Turning heat off in the winter can lead to a very devastating disaster, especially if someone is not checking on the property throughout the winter months.
